Yard WORK!

We have been busy busy busy doing yard work at our house. On Saturday we moved 7 large bushes over to the side of the house and we laid almost 35 bails of pine straw. That's what they use for "bark dust" here - pine straw. It's weird, but I guess it looks ok since everyone else does it. The yard is looking better. Steen also laid grass seed on Monday. We'll see how that does. We are going to get some flowers, more pots, and a palm or two planted in the front, but the hard work is done. Yahoo! Now it's on to the backyard. We have a lush garden/tropical area planned. It should look great. I will post pics when that gets done. Here's what we have for now. Steen is very proud!

The before pic taken in October when we moved in.

After pic #1.
Bushes gone and pine straw laid. Palms trimmed. After pic #2.
Looks great! We just need green grass now!
Again, the before pic taken in October.
Nasty bushes, weeds, and junk.

After pic #1
Weeds gone, new bushes in, tree trimmed, and pine straw laid.
Our bodies are sore and we've all got sunburns, but it was so worth getting the front yard looking better!

Fun pics

Here are some cute pics from the last day or two. We're always having a fun time at our house!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day from the Jensen kids!

Weekend Fun!

We've had a fun and very busy last few days! Steen worked some crazy overtime hours this past week so we used the weekend as our catch up and get things done weekend! We ran lots of errands, cleaned the house really good, went on a bike ride or two and of course enjoyed just being together as a family. Megan and I even got to sneak away on a date to the movies. We saw Gnomeo and Juliet. It was so fun to spend time with just my Megan. We've also been busy getting the yard ready for spring. We have plans for some new bushes, palms, and even a small garden. I'll post pics of our work when things get looking a little greener!

We got an awesome Valentines package from Steen's Dad and Terry. The kids love getting surprises in the mail!
I went in the guest room on Saturday morning and this is what I found. The kids usually like to play in the there, but I never thought I would find all three of them snuggling on the bed with blankets, pillow pets, and stuffed animals. Pretty cute!
Here's another crazy picture from Nana. I think my little space aliens look pretty cute!
While Megan and I were on our date, Daddy had fun with the kids playing Cowboy vs. Cowgirl.
Here's the kids running around chasing each other on there stick horses!

Busy Busy Busy!

The last few weeks have been fun, crazy, busy, painful, and expensive!! Steen went out of town for two weeks on business and while he was gone, I had a kidney stone (painful), our van had some brake issues (expensive), we had lots of play dates (fun), and after the kids went to bed I tried to be crafty most nights (crazy). Being a single Mom that isn't 100% feeling well was difficult, but we survived and made it with the help of our friends and neighbors! We missed our Daddy lots and love having him back home. Here's a few projects I've been working on...

I refinished this dresser that my neighbor got a garage sale for $2.50. When he brought it over it needed some TLC. After a some sanding, primer, paint, and new hardware I think it looks great. In our guest room I am making a little craft corner. It's amazing what you can do with a little peg board and spray paint!
I've been sewing like a mad women - dresses, skirts, quilts, and appliqued shirts have kept me busy at the machines!
I made 25 of these Valentines for Megan's class and some other friends. I found the idea here a few weeks ago and knew that I had to make them for Miss Megan.
I had an old rusty star in my garage so I gave it a coat of spray paint and viola - good as new.
The kids are doing great these days and are keeping busy with school, church, and friends. It's been a little chilly outside the last few weeks. I need to get all my indoor projects done before it gets nice outside. Once that happens I won't want to be in!!

Super D!

My Mom created this pic on her ipad. She emailed it to us this morning and Daniel thinks he is pretty awesome looking. I just had to post it!
