Cape Disapointment

Today we went to Cape Disapointment (on the Washington Coast) for the day. It was almost a perfect day!! We started out with a picnic at Fort Columbia and then headed for the beach. The first beach we went to was super windy, but then we headed to another part of the beach that was more sheltered by some rock cliffs. The weather was a 10 and we had so much fun together! Here are some pics highlighting our trip!!

Megan Went Fishing...Again!

Megan had so much fun fishing last week that we went again today! My Grandpa took Megan and I fishing on Lacamas Lake. The fishing was great, but the catching was lousy! We only caught two, but still managed to have a great time together in the boat.

A really cool house on the lake. I just had to take a pic of it.

Megan's Fishing Video

Here's Megan's fishing video. I couldn't get it to load up on the last post, so here goes!

A Day at the Lake

On Friday we had such a fun day! My parents and grandparents had been camping up at Riffe Lake for the week so we decided to go up for the day to visit. Steen then joined us in the late afternoon and we spent the evening together and then came home late after campfire! The weather was fabulous and the best part of the day was that Megan got to go fishing for her very first time. Grandpa Billett fixed up a pole for her. It must have been a lucky one cause she caught a fish within 10 minutes of us being out. It just made her day. She named her fish Megan and was instantly in love with the idea of fishing. (I will post a video of her fishing soon!) We sure had a great day with all of the family and look forward to some camping trips together with them this summer.

Daniel got to play in the rocks and the dirt all day. He had a blast!
Megan, moments before the big catch of the day!
Megan and Papa walking over to the fish cleaning station. She wanted to be a big helper every step of the way!
Daddy and Megan getting ready to make us Smores! Yummy!
Mommy and Daniel enjoying the gooey chocolaty goodness!

What a Year!

Today is Steen's ONE YEAR mark working for ERI. And since he's been there for one year that means it's also been one year that we've been back in Vancouver and in our new house. What a year it's been! We feel so blessed to be back in the "Couve" with all of our family and friends close by and I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful hubby that works so hard to provide for our family. Thanks Steen, we love you!

This is the day Steen was offered his job. He was interviewed while attending The Society of Industrial Organizational Psychologists yearly conference in New York.

The Walkin' Machine

So here's a little video of Daniel showing off his walking skills! He can actually do better, but this is the best I could get on video. We are so glad that is finally walking (he still likes to crawl though) and it's just in time for summer! Good job Big D!

Fun Weekend Away!

This last week Steen and I celebrated our 7th anniversary. We went on a little weekend get-away and had tons of fun! Early Friday afternoon we dropped the kids off at my parent's house and headed for the Columbia River Gorge. We stayed at the Bonneville Hot Spring Resort & Spa. Any of you in our neck of the woods need to go there! Our room had a private balcony with a mineral spring water filled hot tub! It was awesome! We spent the weekend relaxing, hiking to nearby waterfalls, sleeping in, mini golfing, going the movies, and eating out. Steen and I decided that we need to do this more often! Anyways, we had a great weekend and we can hardly believe that it's already been 7 years together!

Steen mini golfing at the resort.
(By the way, I won that round!)
This is Panther Creek Falls. I wish we would have taken a few more pics of this falls. It was breathtaking! We went there when the sun was setting and the lighting was not good for pics.
On Saturday we went on a 3 mile hike up near Hamilton Mountain which is behind Beacon Rock. This is me showing off my rock climbing skills at Little Beacon Rock.
Steen and I had a wonderful weekend together and I am looking forward to many more anniversary get-away trips together with my sweetheart!

Our Back Yard & Garden

Ok, so many of you have asked to see what our back yard and garden area looks like now that we are almost done with it...well here you go! We still have a few more things to do - plant annuals throughout the beds, lay bark, and finish a compost area, but for the most part we have the yard where we want it to be. It's taken a year, but it's been fun and rewarding to see how you can turn nothing but dirt into this!

From our patio looking to the right.
Lots of flowers will start blooming in the next few weeks. The bed will be bursting with a rainbow of colors!
From my kitchen window looking to the left. Steen planted a row of sunflowers behind the blueberries and raspberries. Annuals will be going in front. And as you can see no fence yet. We don't have an extra $3,000+ laying around for that project at the moment!
A view of the entire yard from the upper corner of our property. Our three garden boxes are doing well. The pots next to the boxes have a variety of things growing in them as well. We will be enjoying our first salad made up of baby greens and spinach tomorrow!

Indiana Jones Movie

Yesterday afternoon Steen and I took Megan to her first movie at the theatre. We of course took her to see Indiana Jones, her most favorite movie series ever. Weird to think that a 3 year would love him so much, but she does!
This is what happened about half way through the movie...
She was so excited about going to the movies yesterday that she never could fall asleep for her nap. She fought and fought the sleepiness, but finally gave in half way through the show! She enjoyed her first movie experience despite her little nap and she thought that the movie was "really cool" and that "Indie is old now"

Thank You Strawberry Pearl Studios!

One of my friends in Moscow, Idaho just started her very own vinyl lettering business. It's called Strawberry Pearl Studios. Look what I just got in my kitchen. It was easy to put up and I totally love it! So if any of you need any vinyl send your business her way! She can do just about anything for you. She was super easy to work with and quick too! Thanks Lacey!

Pretty in Pink!

Today at church Megan got some new glasses in nursery class. Pretty stylish, huh? We especially love the upside down look.

Daniel's New Thing!

Daniel's been putting random things under his neck lately and then letting the things roll down his chest. He thinks it's pretty funny and so do we...
