Cookie Monster

We are getting ready to go camping for a couple of days and today Megan and I thought it would be fun to whip up a batch of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies to bring along with us! Megan loves to help in any way she can. I let her use the cookie scoop today and she did a really good job listening to me as I told her where to place them.
The proud baker...
She asked me to turn the oven light on, then she got a chair and sat and watched the first batch of cookies bake for 9 minutes. It was cute!
Enjoying the finished product. Now we just need to make sure we save some for the trip...

Saturday Beach Trip

On Saturday we went to the beach with Steen's family. The weather was just about perfect and it was so fun to go with all the family. We had a blast playing in the waves, building a huge sand castle and just hanging out together. Daniel was in heaven being able to play in the sand and get as dirty as he wanted and Megan had fun running around in the waves and in the sand.

Daniel looking pretty dirty. Look at those legs! At one point we caught him eating sand...and I think he kind of liked it!
Steen, Dana, and Elina out swimming in the ocean.
This was our huge sand fortress. This was after it started getting demolished by the children and the waves, but it was huge, fun, and tiring to build. (I wouldn't know - I was busy reading in the sun!)
Megan had so much fun running around and being with her Aunts and Uncles! This was Daniel's throne that Anton built for him in the middle of the sandcastle. He sat there for a good hour straight as everyone built the castle around him.

Backyard Fun!

Tonight we were hanging out in the backyard in between rain showers just having some fun. We ate blueberries, picked some green beans and then.....Daniel got caught playing in the mud. Not just playing in it, but chucking chunks of it at the house. Enjoy the little video!

Weekend in Bellingham!

On Thursday we loaded up the car and headed up north to Bellingham, WA to spend the weekend with my best friend Janet and her husband Joe. They have a dog named Mimi who is Megan's new little hairy best friend. We went the the Lynden County Fair on Friday night and boating on Lake Whatcom all day Saturday. The girls were able to do some crafting and the boys went to the movies. We had a great weekend with The Bellemes and hope to make this a summer tradition. Thanks Janet and Joe!

Megan was able to ride two fair rides. She had a blast on both of them.
This was Isabelle the 7 day old Pygmy goat. She was just adorable.
Mommy and the kids in the lake with Janet and Joe in the background.
Daniel loved sitting in the tube while we were swimming and jumping off the boat.
On the way home from Bellingham we stopped in Seattle to visit Uncle Daniel. We stayed for a little while and especially had fun playing in the front yard with him. Megan found this straw hat in his room and decided to wear it around outside. She thought she looked like Indiana Jones in it! The two Daniel Billetts. What a pair!

Yummy Garden

Tonight while in the garden we realized that we haven't taken any recent pics of the yard. It's changed so much. The garden is busting at the seams and is producing some very delicious fruits and vegetables. The flowers are in full bloom and things are looking good. Our backyard is our little piece of heaven these days are we are enjoying it very much!

We played a mean game of Settlers of Catan of Friday night...Drew won. And of course Megan and Daniel enjoyed every wild minute playing with there little best friends Abbie and Lauren.

Clark County Fair 2008

This year we started out the fair with the small animals and worked our way up! Megan and Daniel immediately took a liking to the animals which was nice. We weren't sure how they were going to do after last years bad experience with a huge cow mooing in Megan's face. Here are a few pictures highlighting our trip to the fair this year!

Megan looking at the little Alpacas.
Look at that face, so cute!
Daniel and the goats. These were little baby ones and we got to see them being bottle fed. It was really fun to see them go wild for the milk! Daniel and Megan loved the goats.
This was some ugly crazy chicken. I had to get a picture of it.
These were Great American Geese (I think). They were big and beautiful. They scared Daniel.
Megan on the pony ride. She loved it and didn't want to get off. She was all smiles the entire ride. Her pony was named Cowboy and she thought that was kind of silly.

And of course a trip to the fair wouldn't be complete without eating elephant ears and other yummy fair good. Megan loved her fresh peach milkshake! Yummy!

Super Saturday!

I am in charge of Super Saturday for my ward this year. I made a blog of all the projects we are offering. That way everyone in my ward can go to it and see colored pics and descriptions in case they are unable to see the displays we have up each Sunday. I thought you all would like to take a looksy! Or at least some good ideas for your wards Super Saturdays. Happy crafting! Here's the link to the blog: www.rsupersaturday.blogspot.com.

Crazy Hair!

So just about every morning when Megan wakes up she asks me if she has crazy hair. I usually tell her yes because she gets a big kick out of it. What can I say, that is one of the benefits when you have curly hair. Very rarely do we ever wake up with without looking like we put our finger in an electric socket! This morning Megan's hair was kind of crazy. She wanted me to take a picture of her. Enjoy!
