Kayaking Econfina Springs

Steen and Anton went kayaking the day after Thanksgiving. The weather was very nice and they had a great time hanging out together. Steen loves to take visitors to this place.

Econfina Creek

Last week Steen and Tanner went on a 4.5 hour kayaking trip down a section of Econfina Creek. They spent the day looking for and exploring around the different natural springs. They had lunch on one of the natural limestone banks and also did some swimming in the refreshing water! They had a great day and want to go back and do some more exploring soon.

A trip to Tallahassee

Yesterday Megan had her endocrinology appointment in Tallahassee so we decided to make a fun day trip out of it. After her appointment and lab work we drove downtown and saw the capitol building and drove through some really cool southern neighborhoods. The kids needed to get some wiggles out, so we just happened to find a really cool lake with a path around it. We quickly found out the the lake was surrounded with wildlife. We saw many varieties of ducks some even with little duckings, all sort of turtles, fish of all sizes and shapes, birds, and squirrels. The kids had a blast looking at all the animals and we got lots of wiggles out too! We had a really fun day.

S'mores Please!

On Saturday afternoon we joined a few of Steen's work buddies at a local State Park who were camping. The kids rode bikes, ran around lots and played on the playground while the adults had a nice relaxing time around the campfire. Steen and I got to enjoy the sunset over the bay which was really beautiful. And of course no camping trip is complete without eating lots and lots of s'mores. We stuffed ourselves and boy was it delicious! We had a great time.

Laguna Beach

Yesterday afternoon after we finished our chores we decided to drive about 15 minutes and go down to Laguna Beach. It was nice to get away from all the spring breakers and have the beach kind of to ourselves. The kids had a great time. We should have put them in there suits, but we didn't so everyone got there clothes super sandy and wet! For the first time we let Natalie play in the sand. She loved it. She tasted it once and decided she didn't like it and then spent the rest of the time playing and digging around. We are in for a fun summer for sure!
