Winter Wonderland - December 2007

It snowed at our house the other day. It was kind of crazy, we didn't even know it was coming! We just woke up and when I was opening the blinds, there it was! Of course it wasn't lots, but we got a good inch. Megan played out in it for a while and had lots of fun!! Now everyday she looks out the window to see if it snowed. I guess we need to move back to Idaho or something...

We spent Christmas morning at our house. We had Steen's Dad and Nancy come over for breakfast and present opening. After we were done it looked like we were opening a Toys-R-Us store out of our living room. The kids got lots of toys and some cute clothes. Steen and I got some nice things too! And to top off our Christmas morning it snowed on and off for most of the day. We had a wonderful and memorable first Christmas at our new home together as a family!

All Decked Out - December 2007

Steen and my Dad
Megan amoungst the Christmas village Daniel and Santa

So last night we went over to my Dad's best friends house, Joe and Shelly Rogers. So you think that you have a lot of decorations to put out at Christmas, well I think these people have you beat by a long ways. They have like 6 themed trees and tons of decorations and a huge Christmas village. They even switch out there pictures for holiday themed ones, there bathrooms have Santa shower curtains and Christmas themed decorations and I think they even have Christmas bedspreads. My family goes over there every year for a delicious spread of food and to look at all the decorations. Oh I did I mention they have Skee Ball? I am the champion. Megan had a great time. She couldn't even believe her eyes most of the time. Going over to Joe & Shelly's is one of the highlights of the season for us.

Enjoy the video clip of Megan playing Skee Ball.

Snow Day!! - December 2007

December started off with a bang in Vancouver this morning. It snowed on and off for most of the day! We had plans to put up Christmas lights on Steen's Mom's house and then on ours. Despite the cold & wet snow, we got all the lights up. We had a super fun day and Megan just loved running around outside in the snow. Daniel didn't even know what to think about the white flakes falling from the sky. He looked a little puzzled!

She'll sing it for us on our video camera, but every time we pull out the Kodak she always says "cheese" and waits for us to take her picture! With a little bribing she finally decided to do it! So we are very happy to share this cute video with you...ENJOY!!

Turkey Bowl - November 2007

Here's Steen showing off his football moves at his annual Turkey Bowl at Columbia River High School. It was cold and frosty that morning but I heard the boys had a great time. No big injuries this year, so that was good.

Crazy Megan - November 2007

Megan has been a crazy little sleeper the last week or so. As soon as I shut the door for nap time or bedtime I almost immediately see her light turn on and hear her dresser drawers open. She apparently puts on a little fashion show for herself when she should be napping. She usually ends up falling asleep after she gets bored, but this is how Steen and I found her the other night at 11:30pm. She had emptied all of her jammies on her bed and fell asleep amongst the pile. She was also wearing 4 pairs of PJ bottoms and had her shirt on backwards and half on. We got her tucked in properly after discovering this, but it was pretty darn funny to see this!

Our new FENCE!! - November 2007

Part ONE: We finally saved up enough money to get 1/2 of our yard fenced. We are so excited to have our new fence!! Now we can plant our trees and start landscaping on that side of the yard. Not to mention, now Megan won't be able to run into the neighbors yard anymore. The fencing in our neighborhood can only be almond colored vinyl fencing which is so stinking expensive, 23 bucks a foot. Be on the lookout for part TWO in the spring. Hopefully we will have saved enough for the other half by then!

Steen's 29th Birthday!! - November 2007

Steen celebrated his 29th birthday on the 11th. I cooked a nice dinner for him and we had some friends over, then we had all the family come over for cake and ice cream in the evening. It was lots of fun to have everyone over. Steen got lots of neat gifts and money to spend on "whatever he wants!!" I can't believe that Steen is now 29, and that means that next year he'll be the BIG 30!!

Megan's 1/2 Birthday - November 2007

Megan is now officially 2 1/2! Her 1/2 birthday happens to be on Steen's birthday. So I made Megan some cup cakes and we mainly celebrated Steen's birthday. Megan was excited to have cupcakes of her own and of course all the attention of her grandparents and aunts and uncles!

Dad's 50th Birthday! - October 2007

Daniel enjoyed watching me make dinner. He is so sweet.

Happy Halloween!! - October 2007

Megan the Monkey
Daniel the Sweet Pea

Megan got a rock off the road when we were out Trick-or-Treating.
It was practically as good as the candy!

Happy Halloween! We had a great evening tonight. Megan the Monkey and Daniel the Sweet Pea got dressed up and we went Trick-or-Treating in our neighborhood. We then came back to our house and handed out candy all night long. We had about 75-80 kids come by. Maybe more...Then we ate my graveyard cake, it was yummy. We had a great Halloween and we hope that all of you did as well. Now it's time to get ready for Thanksgiving.

Carving Pumpkins - October 2007

So here we are carving pumpkins. Steen carved three and I carved one. Megan helped a little bit and of course Daniel just watched us. Megan thought it was pretty cool to cut designs into the pumpkins. She thought my pumpkin was nice and Steens were mean. Megan even sampled raw pumpkin from the garbage bowl and she liked it. We had to stop her from eating it! We'll take pics with our pumpkins in the daylight and post them soon. Happy Halloween everyone!!
