Busy Busy Busy!

The last few weeks have been fun, crazy, busy, painful, and expensive!! Steen went out of town for two weeks on business and while he was gone, I had a kidney stone (painful), our van had some brake issues (expensive), we had lots of play dates (fun), and after the kids went to bed I tried to be crafty most nights (crazy). Being a single Mom that isn't 100% feeling well was difficult, but we survived and made it with the help of our friends and neighbors! We missed our Daddy lots and love having him back home. Here's a few projects I've been working on...

I refinished this dresser that my neighbor got a garage sale for $2.50. When he brought it over it needed some TLC. After a some sanding, primer, paint, and new hardware I think it looks great. In our guest room I am making a little craft corner. It's amazing what you can do with a little peg board and spray paint!
I've been sewing like a mad women - dresses, skirts, quilts, and appliqued shirts have kept me busy at the machines!
I made 25 of these Valentines for Megan's class and some other friends. I found the idea here a few weeks ago and knew that I had to make them for Miss Megan.
I had an old rusty star in my garage so I gave it a coat of spray paint and viola - good as new.
The kids are doing great these days and are keeping busy with school, church, and friends. It's been a little chilly outside the last few weeks. I need to get all my indoor projects done before it gets nice outside. Once that happens I won't want to be in!!

Megan's New Dress

I made Megan this dress the other day and when she tried it on she wanted me to take some pics for the blog. So as per Megan's request, here is Megan modeling her new dress. I think it turned out pretty cute!

SEW Busy!

During nap time this week I've been sewing and sewing! Natalie needed a few new dresses & skirts to spruce up her usual selection. I am happy with what I came up with. She's gonna be one cute girl this Sunday!
I've also cranked out a few baby quilts in the last few weeks. I love to sew and I am happy that I have a little more time to do it now that Megan is in school! And hooray for nap time!

Busy with crafts...again

After taking a small vacation from my sewing machine, I decided to pull it out this week and work on a few projects I have been wanting to do! Our playroom has been feeling a bit boring in the decor department so with the help of Megan & Daniel we are doing a playroom makeover. We covered our Ikea table with fabric (see pic below), made some curtains, and have been working on a few art projects and display items. It's been fun to work with the kids and I love having projects that keep them busy. It's so darn hot outside that we are stuck inside most of the time. When the room is complete I will post some pics.
I am always making the girls matching jumpers and skirts for church and Daniel always asks me, "What about me?" Here's what I made for Daniel this week. He's gonna look so handsome this summer sporting his new brightly colored ties. I asked him which one was his favorite and he told me ALL OF THEM!

Quilts Galore!

With birthdays and babies on the way, I have been sewing away.

This is Daniel's new twin sized bedroom set I am giving him for his birthday. I made him two matching throw pillows, a valence, and a matching pillowcase to complete the set. He's gonna love the car theme.
With the left over pieces from Daniel's quilt and I was to make this baby quilt for Andrew & Keali's baby boy who's due in June.
And this is for my best friend Janet & Joe. They are adopting a baby girl from Ethiopia in the next few months. I love this pattern and it's so easy too!

M's new skirt

Yesterday I whipped up this "Julia" skirt by ModKids for Megan. She loves it so much that she is wearing it today for pre-school. I figured I better be sewing while the weather is a little chilly, cause once it warms up we will be spending lots of time on the beach or in our pool! More project pics coming soon!
